St. Jude Catholic School students gathered in their Learning Commons Monday, to hear this message, “My vision is to inspire 1 million readers - through my novel - with the courage to reach for their dreams.”

Yahaya Baruwa, a self-published author and entrepreneur told the students from grades 5-8, if they want something in life, they have to pursue it persistently. The students were shown photos of the author’s family, told of his upbringing in Nigeria and of his family’s immigration to Canada. “If you can believe it, you can achieve it,” he told them. He wrote Struggles of a Dreamer while studying at York University. He also wrote a second novel and is working on completing the trilogy.
